The updated Nestle product boycott list

I took this from another blog. This is important. We Formula Feed right now, and while I have no problems with Formula feeding I am very Pro Breastfeeding as well. I personally didn't make it very long with my first two boys, but I made it to just past 9 months with my third, (I had to quit nursing because of the pregnancy). I plan to make it to a year with number 4.

As promised, here is the updated Nestlé product list (current as of Oct. 7, 2009). The information below came from Nestlé USA product list, Corporate Watch, Gerber and Nestlé Brands.

Don’t know what the Nestle boycott is all about? Educate yourself. Check out my post, Annie’s (PhDinParenting’s) post and Best for Babies’ Anthology of Activist Blogs & Twitter Names. Remember, knowledge is power.

I have attempted Gumbo.

We will see how it turns out. I had to make the roux three times, because really the first two, burned and I just couldn't add that to it.

tonight is best and hottest, so no old navy coupon hunting for me.

If anyone wants to pass along a coupon, please feel free to add me to your facebook. I'd love to get one of the big coupons so I can get some more maternity clothes for me! I'm wanting to be selfish this time around since it really is my last pregnancy.

I'm also taking my oldest sons class some apples for snack today. I hope he's excited. I think I'll also bring him a cup of peanut butter to dip his apples in. He loves peanut butter with apples. I think he'd gotten it from his gramps or maybe it was his daddy who did it first. Either way, he really enjoys it.

I also made some chex mix todayMuddy buddies

9 cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2cup peanut butter
1/4cup butter or margarine
1teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2cups powdered sugar

1.Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2.In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3.Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Need something fun and free to do this week

Today we went with my friend Melissa and her two kids to the pumpkin patch in Flowermound.
It was a blast! The bounce houses, hayride and  fun wooden cut outs of many different characters our kids love.

Everything is free to do at the this dallas pumpkin patch except for taking a pumpkin home and of course their food. They donate to CCA and are also collecting old cell phones for soldiers. I am all for anything for our soldiers, as my husband was a sailor for almost 8 years as well as my grandfather and my uncle. I support our military very much so.

There is also another pumpkin patch right next to this one, and not everything is free on that side. I have not been over there so I can't talk to much on it, but I do know its there.
This one though has enough to keep your kids entertained and to tire them out and ready for naps.
There's also great picture opportunties as well. Which I will upload a few from our first trip out here, with family. All of the pictures I took today need to go in to be developed.

This is a picture of all the pumpkins that were out waiting for us to go find the one we'd take home.
We were on the hayride in this picture.

My oldest sitting on the tractor in the picture area. This area has alot of wooden cut outs and other props great for picture taking.

My husband and oldest sons standing on top of the hay bales, they had alot of fun just sliding on them.

My sweet littlest man sitting next to the pumpkin my parents bought for my boys. The place provides wagons to use free of charge to pull your kids and pumpkins around the patch in! How awesome are they!

It's been another one of those weeks

This week was already off to a bad start. My family was leaving town, and as it stood for time off and possible travels for myself I won't see them till the baby is born, which is still a good ways off.  So Monday had a blah ending. Between my husband who just couldn't shake his being a "jerk", to the kids going nuts, including the baby who had gotten used to being held and rocked all night by grandma for the last ten days. My night was filled with lots of events for a tired pregnant lady, especially after driving all over the place all day long that day.  The next morning, (yesterday) I was off to a bad start too. Got up just a little later than I should have. And once you realize that, its like you become doomed to have a bad day. It was a day better than I had thought it would be. I went to an event yesterday, and learned alot. I got an awesome new webcam and new software that was just totally neato! Yes people still use the words neato.
On top of the stuff I learned, I also met some really awesome ladies. I don't think I've ever actually felt comfortable around a group of ladies, ever. I didn't feel judged by any means, and usually, I do.
After though, I ended up having to go back over to my house instead of being able to get the other two kids that I dropped off at my MIL's house while I was at the event. They live over 60 miles away and where I was, was kind of in between the two. But I had to get back in time to get my oldest from school. So overall I was in the car for several hours yesterday afternoon/early evening. I didn't even make it home before my husband. But there was a good ending to the evening. I had stopped and rented the proposal, and my husband and I watched it. The movie was GREAT!! I had to put that in caps, because it really was a funny romantic comedy, my husband liked it alot. Sandra Bullock is seriously one of my favorite actresses. She also looks great!!

Today, well, its going to be another day, I've got a ton of cleaning to do (since my mother isn't here and apparently my husband says the house is much messier , you know because I was home yesterday to pick up.)

Other than that I have a few projects to do, I need to work on a few things, plus get to cleaning up my craft room.
I also need to start boxing up my sewing/embroidery machine. *Cry* Hopefully it's selling today. I need to let it go and hope I can find a great deal on another machine one day.

So to touch on some of the stuff I have won. I had won an Orbit Stroller from Handmedowns.com
I haven't gotten it yet, and I won a britax roundabout seat (which really couldn't have come at a better time its gunna be used for the baby). But it hasn't made it here yet.
I just wonder if I'll actually get any of the stuff I've won.

I have a MetroMoms event tomorrow to go to, and in just a couple of weeks the Best and Hottest Products event is coming up!! WoooHoooo I am excited for it. A moms night out with dinner and fun and I can't forget that the goody bag looks awesome !! I think I'm more excited about that than the items (mainly cause I know theres just no way I'll get to pick first and get that awesome stroller) (which I could actually used).
For now though, let me hope that today can get better. I mean after all, it is Hump Day!

Cleaning Spree

Saturday is Jordan's birthday. Tomorrow night my family comes in to town. And I have been rushing around trying to clean up to get things looking at least decent.
I will be hosting my first PTA meeting, which means people in my house that aren't family, and well, that rarely happens. So I'm on this cleaning organizing spree that I should have really gotten started on days ago. It just seemed that something else would always come up, and when it wasn't something else, I was just completely exhausted.
So I'm running around today trying to get it all cleaned up. So far, I've decluttered the table in the dining room, the counters in my kitchen, done a portion of the dishes and done a couple loads of laundry.
I still have a million in half things to do, 45 minutes till school is out for my oldest son.  I also need to pull out my steam cleaners. The hardwood floor one and the carpet one. I just feel like I'm never going to get everything done.
