Dallas Fort Worth Modern Babies and Children did a photo shoot at Going Bonkers this morning. Entry was free to the facebook fans that showed up. Some of the pictures may possibly be used in their advertisements.
Now this was my third trip to Going Bonkers and it really just gets better every time I go. Going Bonkers has a huge play area which pretty much takes up an entire half of the building, and the building is not small by any means. The first time I went my middle son was just two years old, and couldn't quite climb up, but they had an awesome toddlers area that he was able to do just fine.
Since that visit, and since he's gotten older and a little taller, he's learned to be able to climb up everywhere. And again, its big.
My five year old son even loves it. He actually stayed away from the arcade until I told him we were going up to the top part to visit the games.
Now this place is great for parents too, in several ways. Up near the game room there is a parents retreat, and they have WIFI as well. Need to work? They have you covered.
Or, want your own work out because you missed the gym? Get up there with your kids and climb all around, it will be a work out too.
Parents also don't have to worry about the kids getting out the door without you, there's a kid check just like your other favorite kid places have these days.
And don't forget about lunch, they have you covered with their snack bar. They have drinks, snacks (of course) and lunch menu items like nearly every kids favorite, Pizza!
Over all, Going Bonkers has a great amount of fun for everyone in the family. Especially everyone in my family.
So next time you're looking for something fun to do with your kids, check them out!
Whoever said having four kids, was the same as having three, did not have my four kids! 3 boys and 1 little princess is tough, but I like to think I'm tougher, with a some crazy moments of course!

My first product review
So as I've talked about before, I attend the Metro Mom's events which are just super awesome as they come up with the latest and greatest Mom products out there. Well after hunting through the newest items on the best and hottest products event. I came across The Wean Machine.
Well, since I have become mom of three, I've decided to take my crazy mom status a step further, and make my own baby food this time around. This was something I had never done before.
At exactly 4 months old, I took Logan in for his fourth month checkup. He had been nursing nearly around the clock even still. So his pediatrician said, start a little solids. I of course, despite being mom of three boys not just one, asked again "How much do I give him?". Her reply " Two tablespoons once or maybe twice a day right now?"
So on my way home, I picked up some yummy fruits, pulled up the baby food making website, and went to work making some baby food. He got his first food of bananas because it was the fastest to make.
Now would you know, my son was not satisfied with just two table spoons of baby food. Oh no no no, when I started feeding him, and then stopped, he was ANGRY at me.
And on we went with more baby food, yet, he was still nursing like crazy after.
So one day we try commercial food for him as we were getting close to our trip to visit family, it was organic of course, and he hated it. So that ended the attempt at commercial made food, and it was still at, homemade food. But what would happen if I was eating out, and didn't have any food ready to grab before I needed to leave, as this did happen so many times already.
So that's when I came across The Wean Machine through the metromoms site, and while reading about it said to myself I could use this on our trip while we always go out to dinner quite often with my family.
That's exactly what I did.
It was great to use. I bought veggies, and had my steam bags (makes an easy way to make the baby food quick if you need to) for the hotel in Orlando. And steamed them up stuck them in the wean machine and mashed, and done. It was so much easier than making a mess with the hotel blender, plus when you're out you can stick this little machine in the diaper bag and you're ready to go out to eat and usually you can find something to mash up in it. And their site, gives you a list of good foods that work well with it. You can't get any better than that.
To view more information on The Wean Machine, visit their site. Or even to check out where they are sold and purchase one.

Do over?
Summer will be coming to an end. All summer i have had all three boys, and then suddenly, August 24th it will be one little boy everyday. My two oldest boys will be off to school, one to Kindergarten the other to preschool half a day.
I am amazed at how quick my boys are growing up. My oldest has been quick all along, but my sweet middle son, has always been a baby to me up until just over a month ago when he finally (and yes after I begged and pleaded for him to actually do it) potty trained. He's been doing better than my oldest who gets to lazy. So when I asked the school if he HAD to be potty trained before school started, they said they would like it, but its not mandatory as they will try and help them with it. Well, he's got it down. It's taken a load off my washer none the less. I cloth diaper, so they do use one at night, (all three actually).
It really is a bittersweet thing.
I still hold on to the tiny bit of hope that one day I'll ever have pink to add to my family of five for a family of six. Even though I know it really won't happen even if I changed my mind.
So for now, it's only blue in my house. Well unless you count Miko but then you would have to count Jax. And well, I already feel outnumbered as it is.

The best and Hottest Products
I moved to Texas a year and three months ago. When I first got here, I was on my own because my husband was not fully "out" of the military yet. At this point in time, I had no friends, and I had no way to make them either. I had two kids with me and anywhere I went they went.
A few months after my husband came home, I came across the Metroplexbaby website. Of course I was looking around the site, and came across their events. So finally I took a chance and bought a ticket. At this point, I was pregnant with my third little one finally.
So I went, not expecting much, because I didn't want to be disappointed. In High School I guess it just comes much more naturally to make friends, because over the course of the last 5 years since moving, I have not been able to make friends very easily. I think it is because I am usually too much in the role of mommy and nothing else. I don't have any other topics to talk about.
Mine are, my kids, carseats and whatever there is to talk about that has to do with kids.
So I went to this event and had a blast. I met one other person there that I felt like I got along with, or rather who talked to me.
Not only that I came home with an awesome gift, along with some really cool stuff in the goody bags.
Now these events are very popular for their items, because really, these are great things to have for the little ones you have. But for me, not only did I get an awesome item, (a pouch sling), I was around other ladies who have something in common with me. Kids!
Last night I went to another Best and Hottest Products event, I was super excited because I hadn't been to an event in a month partly because I had just had my newest little boy.
Now while I didn't get a brand new car seat (which was what I had wanted ). I did get another carrier, in which I gave to another new mama to be that I was sitting with me. I really have no idea why I gave her my item, but she wanted it, I really didn't need my carrier(Since the pouch Sling I've gained a Beco as well).
Along with that, I also gained a few more friends, and maybe we'll actually get together outside of these events and really become friends.
These events are awesome, I'm going to another one next month as well as a few other informational ones. I am excited about them. I love going to these events because I leave with some awesome stuff, and I'm finally making friends here in Texas.
Barbara and Tina, thanks for making the events so great!

How do you teach
So its been a rather interesting day, well actually not so much as interesting as long.
My mother and sister sent us a package that we recieved today. This package has been the hype all week for my son, because they mention things in it when they talk to him on the phone. Everyone loves stuff right? Yes, just as usual, my mother sends him, and KonnorBear, a gift, in which they wrapped up.
Almost immediately upon picking it up out of the box Jordan began to open it. No big deal, except he wasnt positive that was even his, so I stopped him midway, he still ended up going ahead and opening it. It ended up being a power ranger toy, blue ranger to be exact. He quickly ran it to his brother, believing this one is for his little brother.
Well, no, the other package had Konnors name written on it. I waited for Konnor to come down and gave the package to Konnor to open, and of course, Jordan was angry. I told him that he didnt even know if it was a power ranger toy, he was still upset with me.
It turned out to not be a power ranger toy, and so Jordan finally realized that the blue ranger was the toy he recieved as a gift from his grandparents.
At this point I made sure that they did not hear this whining from my son.
And had my children (and yes both of them) call them to thank them for the great school supplies and school clothes and the toys they recieved.
Of course a little later after we had talked to them and thanked them for the great stuff, both boys played a bit with their toys, and then my oldest (jordan) came to me and asked me to call his grandmother.
This was the conversation he started having with her.
" I didnt want the blue ranger, I wanted the other color ranger" in his whining soft muddled 4 year old voice.
"what did you want" grandma says back.
"I didnt want the blue power ranger" Jordan muddles out again.
"What did you want then?" grandma asks again.
"The green ranger" grandma says
"the red ranger" she adds in.
"yes the red ranger" Jordan says a little louder this time.
At this point I have broken into the conversation and I am taking the phone away from my son and sending him to the stairs (time out for us) and I proceed to tell my mother I am sorry that he was acting like a spoiled brat.
My husband and I are not raising him that way and I really have no idea why it still happens. I knew some of it was the age he's at, but I know that its not all just that.
So after that I went to speak with him, just talking with him didnt make him understand (although cry of course) even though no loud words were used and no mean words were used either, (it was just the thought of never recieving a toy again in his life that hurt)
So I finally, I decided to provide an example. My example was that of him picking me flowers and giving me a flower which he does occasionally. So we headed outside to the front yard where I asked him to get me a flower. He picked me out a flower and gave it to me and I said no I want a red one. He didnt quite get it, but went back to get me a red flower.
brought me back a red one and I said no I want a blue flower, at this point, he started to cry. (My example was over) and I asked him to come to me.
I asked him if I hurt his feelings. And then asked if he thought what he said hurt his grandmas feelings.
It took a minute of explaining more, but then he asked to go call his grandmother.
Then he STILL didnt learn the lesson as he was speaking to my sister.
He tells her that he doesnt want anymore toys or need anymore toys (this would have come from me trying to explain the difference between needs and wants).
So I had to take a moment and explain once again.
This time, I think he finally got it. and He apologized to my "mom" (who wouldnt be available to speak to him so my sister pretended to be her)
and I think he really did understand this time around.
Lets hope.

Just spending our last week together
It's been a somewhat relaxed yet hectic summer. We didn't do anything we wanted to do for our boys because well, the funds weren't quite there most of the time. Trying to save for the medical bills that having number three will bring us, along with getting diapers for number three.
It was a family event finding out that number three will be Logan, so that was an interesting day.
We added animals to our family as well.
Now, with less than a week away, Jordan starts Prek at our local early learning preschool. Yeah those of you who know me are probably thinking, didnt he go to school last year. Yes he did. But he went for two hours, only two days a week. He will now go five days a week, from 7:50 am to 2:50 pm. I've anticipated him starting school, but now that its happening, I'm a little sad.
We didn't really go school shopping, I mean what on earth could a four year old prek student NEED for school. But I've always been excited to take my kids back to school shopping and bonding during it, as my mom and I did growing up.
What school shopping I did do, Jordan wasn't very interested in. I guess I keep forgetting, he is only four.
So on that note, we've got KonnorBear who we really believe will have issues with his big bubba going away ALL day long all week.
We are going to start our own Prek program at home now that we'll have a little extra time, but I still have loads left to sew for Logan, and I just have no clue how I'm going to entertain Konnor and get things done.
So I am losing a child during the day, to school, but gaining a child who will be so bored and so upset and who can't entertain himself for even the slightest five minutes. Unlike Jordan was able to do at this age. And if you're starting to think, naptime would be a great time. If I am lucky enough to get him to take a nap, It's usually because I'm compeltely beat and i hold him down and he'll finally fall asleep. If I do that when I'm just not completely exhausted, I'll become exhausted and fall asleep with him anyway. So that idea really is shot out the door.
I still have several blankets to make for Logan and his bigger brothers to share with him.
Along with adding the snaps to our prefolds. (which I NEED to take to the hospital with me).
Plus I need to work on the soakers, and the pants for covering his diapers. And then I would love to finally get around to making some clothes for him. Cute outfits for the winter, and our travelling. Not only that, I still have to finish the house!
We still need an entertainment center for upstairs. Plus I need to reupholster the sectional couch down stairs. Which I keep saying I'll do it today, but havent done that yet.
I will soon though. Maybe today, if I can muster up some energy to do it.
I also keep saying I will work on the yarn doll for Konnor and then maybe eventually make one for Logan. Of course his is not even half finished.
I really need an automactic knitting machine, cause I think its just I'm no good at knitting.
So on my agenda today... play with my kids!

Woohoo my own blog
Although there isn't much to blog about.
guess I could write about who we are.
Two boys, and a third little one on the way. My husband is a US NAVY VET. He's now in a civillian job working full time, doing pretty well for us. We're very proud of him.
We bought our first house right before getting out of the military.
I currently stay at home, but really want to finish my degree, and as soon as my kids are all in school, start a career as a Paralegal, and maybe continue on with school and eventually end up in law school. It is a dream, and honestly, not sure if it'd come true, but it's there, and hopefully something I can achieve.
I am trying to go as natural as possible, from delaying and selective vaccinations for my children, Cloth Diapers, getting rid of using disposable products, along with trying my hardest to get my family to eat healthier as they grow.
This includes the struggle of learning how to cook from scratch using fresh ingredients which I am NOT your typical home maker.
